Doom codified and revolutionized First-Person Shooters, and remains one of the most influential games in the genre.Feel free to also discuss Doom-engine games such as Heretic, Hexen, and Strife, and any others. I use whatever I feel like at that moment in time. Even the starter pistol can kill strong enemies if you charge it up. I personally like the plasma rifle and the heavy assault rifle (those are the strongest guns I have so far) Sometimes I get lazy and just run up to the enemy and punch him in the face 4-5 times in a row until I can insta execute him. Shotgun Guys are about as weak as Zombiemen, so a pistol will kill one. Weapon: pairs of fireballs, A lot like a huge Imp, the Mancubus fires fireballs at you. The demons take the same amount of damage on all difficulties. They just deal more damage to you. As far as Lost Souls go, yes you can take them out with a charged shot, but in later levels they appear in heavier spawns. Sure you can scope them out, but you better remember where they are. Lol As someone on the top comments said, the part where you're at the tram station will be miserable. Wave after wave of the biggest demons. You will not have time to charge your pistol.EDIT: Someone just uploaded a video of them beating Ultra-Nightmare, pistol only. Baaaahh gaaaawwwd dat sum bitch did it. I take everything back. I don't know shit. Doom III: Retribution Humankind have managed to land a man on the moon and sent multiple expeditions to other planets, such as Mars. While the Spirit and the Opportunity are investigating the possibilities of life on the Red Planet, scientists are developing technologies to send a spaceship to Mars with people onboard. Just in case it transpires it is possible to live on Mars, a laboratory will almost certainly be established on the planet to learn more about space, existence of life and other worlds. But what do we know about technologies we use and different life forms apart from ourselves? Could the combination of the unknown open the gates of hell bringing doom, fear, violence and horror? The answer is yes. Set a little more than a year after the events of Doom 3 in 2145, the UAC detects a strange signal from one of its Martian satellites, and consequently sends a team in to investigate. Finding Hell's 'Artifact' in the process, the forces of Hell attempt to retake the object from the player, a marine combat engineer who is working for Dr. Elizabeth McNeil. McNeil, an unseen character in Doom 3, was the whistleblower who notified counselor Elliot Swann and Jack Campbell of Dr. Malcolm Betruger's mysterious activities at the beginning of Doom 3. After fighting his way through the complex, they eventually meet up with McNeil in the Phobos Labs. She explains that the only way to destroy the Artifact is to return it to where it came from: Hell. And yey that's what we have to do =D! Rules Weapons & Clearance Demons Characters. Weapons & Clearance 'We are many. We are the Praelanthor. You know us as the Soul Cube. Release us from our eternal prison, and we will help you. Listen for our call, and free us, to strike down the evil.' - The Soul Cube Your fists. Just like a real life, you can punch people, zombies, demons, boxes, walls, etc. Yes you can use it to see in the dark, and you can also bash people, zombies, demons etc with it. Nice melee weapon. Err I mean tool to cut down trees. Your basic sidearm, can hold 12 rounds. It's a shotgun, 8 shells can be tucked away in one. Like a pistol, but is bigger and fires faster. Holds 60 rounds in the clip. Like a machine gun, but only with multiple barrels so you can fire even faster. Like a machine gun, but fires plasma I guess, can hold 50 shots in the clip. For when you want a little more BOOM in your DOOM. What game from id hasn't had one? Erm, okay well Wolfy 3D, and Hovertank 3D and a few other really old ones, but come on classic id weapon. Can do 5 shots without reloading. The mother of all weapons. Special Vital for your work at the Union Aerospace Corporation. Stores your e-mails video discs and allows you to download and access other people's PDAs which you find throughout the game. Basically like in the original DOOM. Causes the player's vision to go red and funny looking, causes the player to scream at the top of his lungs, doubles the running speed and causes 30x damage for melee attacks (fists for example). Makes you even tougher. Makes you invisible for a short period of time. Determining Factors The Soul Cube is powered with the life force liberated following any death, including humans and allies, at the hands of its current user. Five kills will leave the Cube ready and fully-charged, and it will then say, 'Use us.' An indication will be when the Cube is lit up at its five orbs (four on the side and one in the center). The Cube then displays a large intersecting collection of whirling circular blades, before zooming off to the target and damaging it with the blade array in question. During its attack, the player's normal weapons replace its position at the helm. It also transfers the target's life force to the user, partially or completely healing any injuries the player may have, depending on the remaining hit points of the main target when the Cube strikes. The Soul Cube attacks intelligently; it always attacks the enemy with the largest amount of hit points within range, and homes in on the target. These graphics are gorgeous! There's still some signs that the games are old (especially Arkham Asylum with the character models when they talk), but MAN the environments are STUNNING! Batman Arkham City introduces a brand-new story that draws together an all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe. Batman: Arkham City sends players soaring into Arkham City - a heavily fortified sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City. There's still some signs that the games are old (especially Arkham Asylum with the character models when they These graphics are gorgeous! Batman return to arkham pc. The damage per Soul Cube attack is 1000. The maximum health that the Cube can restore to the player is 100. The rate of restoration is 5 health points per interval, and two intervals per second. Only the boss demons, like Sabaoth and Cyberdemon, can hope to survive even a single Soul Cube attack (4 attacks to be exact to kill the Cyberdemon), and even then, the Cube still performs a life force transfusion. The Cube then retracts the blade array and returns to the user's keeping, until its wielder inflicts enough deaths to re-energize it. It should be noted that the life force absorption seems to be only needed to power the Soul Cube's movement and homing functions. When it is charged and idle, it occasionally displays its blades and spins for a brief period of time. MancubiThe Soul Cube does not attack monsters that are unaware of the user's presence, nor does it attack living humans, as seen in Nightmare mode where the player receives it at the beginning of the game. When activated, the Artifact will slow down the player's perception of time into 'Hell Time', giving the player increased speed and reactions compared to the monsters, similar to bullet time in the Max Payne games. Later additions to the Artifact's powers include near-unstoppable melee damage and temporary invulnerabilty, depending on the progress made through the game. All the available powers at that point are activated at the same time. The Artifact is considered to be the opposite of Doom 3's Soul Cube; whereas the Soul Cube was created by the Martian civilization to defeat Hell and is powered by the captured souls of demons, the Artifact was created by Hell and is powered by the captured souls of humans. Story Rules Demons Characters. The Main Characters, lead scientist of the UAC base, is what made the teleportation technology come alive and at no cost will stop to achieve what he wishes., sent by the UAC board directors, was sent to the UAC base to find out the reason for such odd and suspicious happenings on the Mars base, such as the recent amount of missing civilians and staff that were freaked out and requested transfers off Mars. The girl tossed in her sleep, smothering herself in her pillow, then rolled onto her back again, moaning. 'We are the Praelanthor. You know us as the Soul Cube. Release us from our eternal prison, and we will help you.' She tilted her head sideways, gasping quietly, then clenched the sheets in her hands 'Listen for our call, and free us, to strike down the evil.' In one moment, she was awake, panting and staring in a state of shock at the bottom of the bed. There was no fire, there were no demons, no beasts to slay, no monsters to battle, no 'Soul Cube' possessing her. She was still in one piece, and she was still very-much-so alive. 's.t,' She groaned, sliding out of her bed with her hand over her head, 'I need to tell the guys to stop playing that damned music when I Fall asleep.' Stepping over sleeping bags filled with snoozing men, the blonde made her way towards the door, carefully opening it and stepping inside. It was a Friday morning, and she could tell today was going to be bad. The shower head was still dripping, the mirror was still foggy, and someone left the soap in the middle of the floor. 'Idiots,' She crouched to pick it up, then set it off to the side, looking around, 'this place smells bad.' Yey for typical days in the UAC headquarters. That was the name of the game. 'Be Formal' they always told him. By them, ofcourse, we mean the commanders. Those who give the commands. Oh well, no big deal in being Formal. It just means you have to wear Fresh uniforms everyday, and a full body armor ontop of them. With that, also your pistol and Machinegun. And let's not forget about the helmet. And all of the basic supplies needed for him to look Formal. With all that, Ben's weight gained 18 Kilos as he finished dressing up. But you get used to that. As long as you stay away from the east stand. That's where the window is. If you are about to go on a vacation back to Earth, and wants to look cool, stand there. If not, It's just a place where you get baked and tanned all day, sweating a poddle around you. Kill A Mancubus With A Pistol For SaleYou had to stand there and make sure no one came too close to the window. No one will, when they see a sweaty soldier standing there. But the rest are fine. Air-condition, smiling to little old ladies and taking pictures with excited kids, and directing people to the information stand. And every now and then break the arm of a guy trieng to cause trouble. Yup, that's pretty much the life of a security guard at UAC. Quickly, five men and one woman scattered into a jarbled, uneven line, hands rising to salute as the door opened, and their commanding officer stepped in. He was a tall man, bleached hair properly spiked. 'As you know,' He slid into the room smoothly, eyeing all of them, 'today is the ecological expo at Mars City, and you lucky bunch have been chosen to participate.' There was a series of groans. 'We will go out, and we will ensure the peace, as we always do, answer questions provided, and if you are called, do not hesitate to respond, is that understood?' Kill A Mancubus With A Pistol CaseNow move out.' As soon as the man was gone, the girl huffed, pushing her hair back and fixing her belt. 'Jesus, Campbell seems even more full of himself today, doesn't he?' 'Just when I thought he couldn't get much worse.' 'He's just like his grand papa,' one of the younger mexican men said, clasping his hands over his chest and sighing almost dreamily, 'what a man he was.died in battle.' He was killed in the accident,' Silence, and the group turned to stare The accident, several decades earlier, hadn't left their mind. They'd managed to rebuild much since then, but. 'Don't talk about it so disheartingly,' Luka scolded, 'honestly Geoff.watch what you say.' He scoffed and walked towards the door. 'Whatever girl.' Copied from my post on the Escapist forums:'My purchase of Doom really depends on how Carmageddon: Max Damage will fare on the PS4, going to pre-order that but if the performance ends up being horse bollocks I’ll be getting Doom. If the new Carmageddon does run fine Doom will have to wait for atleast another month.Darn shame that the soundtrack what I’ve heared until this point doesn’t really hit me as being awesome. Leaves me wanting to just put on Anaal Nathrakh or something on full volume instead.Yes, my thoughts have changed on this game. Though those so called “Glory Kills” still annoy me to no end.' Some actual combat shown here:. High jumping combined with the ability to mantle and no apparent fall damage appears to put this on par with the vertical capabilities in BL2 (BL2 didn’t have mantling, but I’ll be incredibly surprised if the vertical gameplay in Doom is better than what’s available in BL2). The dude moves fast. The speed range in BL2 is still much larger, depending on your character/skills, but for a basic space marine, this’ll be a fresh change of pace. I like the way the guns sound. They look okay (again, this is pretty basic space marine fare), but they are a little big. The combat here, at least in terms of enemy count (I didn’t see anyone really shooting at him?) looks delightfully fast paced. Is the shotgun really good at the range at which he’s using it?. At 2:57, he does a melee strike. A melee strike that’s got some strategic use (like a little knockback at least) will be a welcome addition. Ok, Zer0 fans - it turns out that the melee strike does have strategic use, and if you upgrade and equip the Seek and Destroy, Blood Fueled, and Savagery runes, it’s a little like Many Must Fall; he’s got a dash I think is just a tad shorter than Zer0’s Execute, and upon a successful melee (glory) kill, he gets a movement boost. If the enemies are “staggered”, you can work them with your bare hands. If not, the chainsaw works with this too (although unlike Execute, the shots cost ammo, but it is pretty much a guaranteed kill if you have enough shots for almost every enemy). If you’re in a room full of low-level enemies, you can almost tear them apart with your bare hands (not that there are many of these, but it’s still a good time).Executing across the room with the chainsaw for a kill in Doom is a pleasant surprise. What specifically?I, for example, do not care for their checkpoint system at all. Kill A Mancubus With A Pistol ClubThe ability to get locked out of an area with no warning and no ability to go back and explore (other than completing the map and starting it over entirely) is also vexing.Have you been finding, completing, and upgrading all the runes? I ground my way through the “shorter” upgrades (I’d find an easy way to get a few steps through the upgrade count shortly after a checkpoint, and just repeat that until it was full since rune progress is saved outside of the scope of the checkpoint). Those can make a huge difference during combat. The same goes for the suit and weapon mods with their respective upgrades (which I similarly ground up, mostly because I didn’t want to find out after grinding them up over the course of a map or two of actual combat, that the upgrade reward sucks, and I should have been upgrading something else during that time). For the uninitiated, a number of weapon mod points come from in-game challenges like finding all the secrets on a map, purging every demon from the map, and weird little combat challenges posted per map, for example. If you’re not into that, this can feel grindy.Once I’ve finished this playthrough, these upgrades are apparently available for subsequent returns to any given map, so I’m kind of writing this playthrough off as a learning experience (seriously, are Pinkies completely invulnerable from the front?) and to get the grindy parts out of the way.I am playing the “Hurt Me Plenty” difficulty once I’m a little more battle-hardened, I may pick something harder. To sum up my biggest pet peeves:-Levels are not truelly open, while linearity isn’t a problem per say, having the Foundry to be more open than any other levels just makes it obvious.-Demons aren’t pre-spawned, instead it takes a que from Doom 3 and it spawns right in front of your nose. Which is kind off ironic since I dont recall RoE doing that. And while classic Doom does it, it does so very rarely.-Limited health, armor and ammo unless you upgrade your suit.-Glory kills, complete turn off, and yet you have to rely on them at times. Chainsaw does a similar thing, but atleast it is limited in fuel, so I can let that bit slide (atleast somewhat).-Aesthetically, Hell could’ve been alot more vibrant, instead we get something that’s rather generic looking.-Which also kinda brings me back to my first point: the game boils down to walking in corridors arena section (thanks to the gore nests) more corridors, etc. Unless, again, it’s the Foundry.Last one:-Soundtrack, this really is a case of YMMV, but I do think it is Mick Gordon’s worst effort, with only 2 memorable songs. All in all, I think the game is a 6/6.5 at best. I’m loving the game more and more as the mobs get thicker and thicker. I finally got Ultimate Cooling for the Mobile Turret mode of the Chaingun, which I’ve been trying to get since I got the “Rich Get Richer” rune - no spin up time, unlimited ammo (as long as your armor count is 75 or more), and enemy penetration. Jump to Sonic the Hedgehog - Chip McCallahan in Sonic the Hedgehog CrazySonic Doctor Robotnik's Creature Capture Dustin Wyatt's Epic. A Generic Sonic 1. Aladdin 2 Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog. Chip McCallahan in Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic the hedgehog mods. Gotta go fast! If you are a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog then you will love this mod. It adds just about every block from the original series and all of the collectable. Aug 12, 2017 - Infinite Lives and Time, along with Protection from Hazzards, Stage Select, and Keep Rings are in the Chill Edition of Sonic The Hedgehog! This is all I’ve been using for most of the Necropolis so far. For you BL2 players (or anyone, really) who aren’t familiar with the game, there’s enough weapon and character modifications to keep it lively. Here are the CliffsNotes (if you want to find out about this stuff on your own, don’t read - other than descriptions of the game mechanics, there are no story spoilers here).Runes: these are little things you find on the maps (some hidden, some not) that, when activated, take you to a different place and present you with a challenge, like, “kill everything with this gun in 30 seconds, but you’re stationary; you get two seconds of movement with each kill” or something. You get as many tries as you want to complete them, but once you do, you own that rune. The rune can then be upgraded once if you follow the little sub challenge on it (which is done through the course of normal combat, like, “kill a Mancubus with the pistol” or something). You get three rune slots which may be filled with any of these twelve runes as follows:. Vacuum - lets you suck up ammo/health/armor drops from a distance, kind of like picking up money in BL2 by walking over it, but the distance is way farther. Dazed and Confused - keeps enemies staggered longer to take the edge off getting glory kills. Ammo Boost - enemy ammo drops give more ammo, plus a chance to drop BFG ammo (which is fairly rare). Equipment Power - your “grenades” are more effective. There’s a hologram (that just throws up a little stationary decoy for a moment), a regular grenade (that’s surprisingly good), and a health siphon grenade that I haven’t actually used in combat, but it works like a Transfusion grenade. Seek and Destroy - This is Zer0’s Execute. If you have the chainsaw out, almost any enemy is game (as long as you have the fuel for it). If you don’t have the saw out, you have to stagger an enemy first. The dash distance might be just a tad shorter than Execute, but it’s a guaranteed kill. Savagery - speeds up glory kills. You are somewhat vulnerable while doing them, so I guess this helps does make the pacing more fun. In-Flight Mobility - gives you a fair amount of control in the air after a single or double jump. About the double jump: you eventually get it through the normal course of the game, and this is the only enhancement to it it’s kind of a one-off thing in terms of character enhancements, but it’s super fun. Armored Offensive - enemies drop armor when glory killed. Blood Fueled - Onslaught without the gun damage (movement speed buff after a glory kill). ID had a pretty good go at making a viable, entertaining melee mechanic. Intimacy is Best - enemies stay staggered longer (making glory kills easier). Rich Get Richer - infinite ammo as long as your armor count is over a certain amount (not sure if the BFG or chainsaw count - it does say, “standard” weapons). This really changed how I play the game. Saving Throw - Grit/FFYL (a shot that would otherwise kill you does not, you get a little health, and things slow down for a moment to get your affairs in order). Kill A Mancubus With A Pistol GunYou get one to two of these per life (they reset upon death, and I think upon making it to a new map too, but don’t quote me on that).Challenges - these are like Map Challenges from BL2, but these points go towards weapon-specific buffs instead of general buffs like BAR from BL2, and there are three unique ones per map. Kill a Cacodemon with the chainsaw, Do five “sweep the leg” glory kills, whatever. There’s an implied challenge too, in that, if you find all the secrets and items on a map, you get a bonus point.Suit Upgrades - scattered throughout the game are little suit points that you can find. Some point types can be spent on generic increases to health, armor, and ammo capacity; other types can be spent on the following (once bought, these are active, so you can have all this stuff at the same time if you find enough points to buy them all):.Adept - swap weapons faster (like Expertise or Fast Hands).Quick Hands - lets you grab edges faster, so you can mantle faster. Dude can climb like a champ.Hot Swap - swap weapon mods faster. I’m not big on swapping these in the middle of combat, but it’s not terrible.Power Surge - when a power up (quad damage, invulnerability, whatever) wears off, you fire a little nova. I’ve never been so close to enemies at the time this wears off to damage them, so can’t speak to how damaging it is.Healing Power - when you grab a power up, your health resets to full.Power Extender - power ups last longer (who doesn’t want that?).Quick Charge - you get up to two grenades, and they recharge (as opposed to picking them up, although there is grenade “ammo” in the form of the grenade mod, which will automatically refill your grenades). This lets them recharge faster.Stock Up - this is your second grenade (so you can throw two before you’re waiting for the recharger).Rapid Charge - recharge even faster. This makes the recharge time, what, ten or fifteen seconds (which is still an eternity in the middle of combat).Item Awareness - shows items on the map in a larger radius around you. In your PDA (suit menu?), you get a zoomable, rotateable map, which shows you and some nearby items, but you can only see what you’ve discovered (kind of like your first time through Pandora when map details are revealed as you explore), and some equipment items therein. This extends the range of your map discovery, including items within.Secret Sense - The compass will pulse when you get near a secret area (some of which are very well hidden). I think there’s some noise too.Full View - Exploration items appear in the map automatically. Just because you can see the secret item doesn’t mean you know how to get there (which is what Secret Sense is for).Hazard Protection - Like Asbestos or Forbearance; environmental damage reduction (including that from barrels). I didn’t really see any real environmental hazards until later in the game (barrels, however, are all over the place, and unlike Borderlands 2, these can be kicked around before they explode).Self Preservation - reduces self damage from weapons.Barrels of Fun - immune to barrel damage.Weapon Mods - to unlock a weapon mod, you have to find a little thing in the map, which lets you choose any one you want. (Basically, exploration has a pretty big payback because pretty much anything you find will be valuable towards increasing your capabilities). Once you have that mod (most weapons get two, a couple only get one, and the BFG and Chainsaw don’t get any), the weapon points you get (from the challenges mentioned at the beginning of this) are spent upgrading them. Only one of the mods can be equipped at any given time (although they can be changed on the fly). These are in addition to the regular weapon fire (like an alt-fire mode). Most of the upgrades are pretty basic (reduce charge time, reduce recovery time, increase damage, for example), so I’ll only cover the game changers:. Pistol (like an e-tech spike, but without the detonation delay, plus you can charge a shot for more damage). This doesn’t get any mods; when maxed out, the charge shots do more damage. Shotgun (single barrel). Charged Shot lets you fire three shots in a row (like it was made by Dahl, but you don’t need to aim down the sight). Maxed out: successfully landing all three shots increases the damage of the next three. This doesn’t stack, but is pretty cool nonetheless. The shots are surprisingly accurate too. Explosive Shot lets you fire a grenade out of the weapon for explosive damage. Maxed out: if you get a body shot with the grenade, it turns into a little MIRV. Super Shotgun (double barrel): there are no mods for this, but it can be upgraded for faster reload speed, bullet penetration, and two shots per reload (instead of one). Heavy Assault Rifle. Tactical Scope - gives you a sight with a bit of zoom, but upgrades include (while zoomed): enemy penetration, higher crit damage, faster movement, and higher base damage. I love the addition of this game mechanic. Micro Missiles - gives you little missile batteries on the weapon flanks; these fire downwind, but are otherwise unguided. When maxed out, the missiles can be fired as long as you have ammo (instead of reloading between salvos). Chaingun. Gatling Rotator - this doesn’t seem like a mod as much as basic enhancements to the gun itself. You get higher spin up speed, enemy penetration, and incendiary damage (which is just higher damage - there really isn’t any elemental damage mechanic here). Mobile Turret - I’m not sure what this means, but it’s way more aggressive; outside of the incendiary rounds, I’m not sure why one wouldn’t choose this mod? There’s basically zero spin up time, bullet penetration, and (when maxed out), the weapon won’t overheat (where without this upgrade, you’d have to back off the trigger on occasion). Plasma Rifle - like a shock Maliwan SMG with huge fire rate increase. Stun Bomb shoots a shock orb in a little arc to stun enemies for a moment. When maxed, enemies killed while stunned will proc their own stun-splosion, which can chain. Heat Blast - I haven’t really used this, but it seems to be a burst of energy to push marauding enemies off you (the range seems very short). Gauss Cannon - the local railgun. Precision Bolt - gives you a little scope and zoom, with a charged shot. When maxed, enemies killed by this will explode for damage to other nearby enemies. Headshots from this hit very hard. Siege Mode - this appears to fire a single, burly blast downwind (which I think can penetrate enemies). A little nova blast may be triggered around you when you fire, and when maxed, you can move while it’s on (otherwise you’re stationary). Rocket Launcher. Lock-on Burst: keep an enemy in your crosshairs for a moment while activating, and you’ll get a lock on an enemy; firing will launch three homing rockets at the target. When maxed, you can lock onto three separate enemies (which will just divide the three shots among them, one each). Remote Detonation: just like it sounds. I don’t have this, but it sounds like, when maxed, the rocket can be detonated more than once per flight?
